One of my favorite websites is The Forgotten South. Kelly Gomez travels and photographs old houses, churches, and cemeteries and researches the history of the locations. She tells the stories of the locations in her blog in a way that exudes her passion for history and documenting these locations before they are lost to time. She is also spearheading a project to clean cemeteries and grave markers that are in need of preservation. You can find out more about her work and projects and how you can help by visiting her website below.
Documenting and preserving history consists of many projects worldwide and takes an army of people to accomplish. This page is to list these projects, whether it be one of my own, someone else's, or from an organization. This includes, but not limited to specific historical research, photographing and filming sites, or the preservation of documents, buildings, and cemeteries. Let us honor those who came before us by preserving our past!
If you have a project, or know of one, that you think should be added to the list; please fill out the form below and let me know.
